Sergio Mottura, Orvieto
Organic and eco sustainable since the 1990s, the winemakers have successfully created a vineyard so free from pollution and energetic impact that a rare and protected species of porcupine has taken residence within the vines. This is now the official mascot of the vineyard, and a beautiful symbol of how in touch with nature and the terroir the vineyard is. As such, Sergio has chosen the predominant grape varieties in this Orvieto as those that have the best expression of the terroir, producing a ripe, fleshy and deliciously juicy wine.
Nino Barraco Catarratto
Established in 2004, this is organic winemaking with such an unusual terroir and expression that we had to include it. A grape variety native to Sicily, from a region famous for its sweet wines, this Catarratto is bone dry, and speaks honestly of the land and climate in which it is grown. Sturdy salty winds, golden light, pitch black soils with a peaty smoky finish, and unlike anything you will have tasted before.
Casa Belfi prosecco
Organic and biodynamic, with no added sulphites, this wine is as traditional as they come, and is a reminder of the wines our grandparents used to drink. The philosophy is based on a respect for nature and natural traditions, with sur-lie fermentation, and without filtration or clarification. Recognised by the highest standard of biodynamic farming and the motto Suolo e Salute- soil and health, this will open your eyes to the beauty of natural wines.
Antonelli Trebbiano Spoletino
Hand picked Trebbiano grapes from old vines, this vineyard produces fantastic wines that speak of authenticity and harmony with the Earth. They focus on drinkability and elegance in their wines, produced from gentle extraction techniques and moderate wood use.
