PRIVATE VIEW: LEAF POEMS BY NICOLA CUNNINGHAM
THURSDAY 5TH OCTOBER  6-9PM
SHOWING THROUGHOUT OCTOBER

Previously tagged "The girl in the garden" from her performance as Mary in Shaun of the Dead, Nicola Cunningham is an actor, artist, educator who has worked as an art specialist in schools teaching art and drama and developing performance art pieces shown at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. She has delivered innovative experiential art workshops and 'happenings' at the Ace Hotel alongside East London Juice Company. And may be remembered by some for bringing a large loom onto the Wanstead Flat with London Cloth Company to weave the grass into a tent.

Nicola grew up in a rural part of the Isle of Man and moved to London at the age of 16 to study performing arts. Her psyche is firmly rooted in nature which is why she chose to move to Forest Gate near the Wanstead Flats 8 years ago.

A mother, keen runner and forager Nicola can often be found on the Wanstead Flats either running, foraging or playing with her children.

Leaf Poems is a collection of personal works reflecting feelings in response to life using plant matter, photography, and embroidery.
