PATTERN & PRINT - LINOCUT PRINT WORKSHOP
Tuesday 9th May - 7 to 10pm
Ticket £35 – Workshop, pizza & glass of house wine.
Come and explore the traditional art of lino block printing. This form of print can be translated onto many surfaces. In this workshop, you will create a concept for your very own pattern using books, fabrics and reference images if you need a bit of inspiration.
Under the guidance of your tutor Antonietta Torsiello, you will transfer and carve your hand drawn design onto a lino block and create a print to take home with you after the class.
Lino printing is an extremely popular form of printmaking, used by many professional artists. Although this is now the case, for a long-time lino printing was held in low esteem by the art world, until a certain Pablo Picasso made a series of lino prints in the 1950s. That saw the start of a trend that still flourishes today.
The tutor Antonietta is local award winning artist who has been exhibiting her art work for the last 7 years and delivering workshops to adults and children for the past 4 years. These include various mixed media & printmaking classes for kids, lino cut, upholstery for beginners and pottery painting classes.
The use of all tools and materials is included.
Paper, lino block, cutters, printing rollers and inks.
All abilities are welcome to join, no specific skills or prior knowledge required.
